Doctors

Caitlin Snyder, DVM

Medical Director

Dr. Snyder has recently joined the Talega Animal Hospital team as Medical Director after working in both emergency/specialty and general practice settings for many years. During this time, she found a special interest in urgent care cases, performing ultrasound and laparoscopic procedures (spay, gastropexy, etc.), as well as advanced dental procedures. She is a lifelong learner who always seeks continuing education opportunities to bring the latest and greatest advancements in veterinary medicine to her clients and patients. Practicing a high standard of care and being able to offer clients multiple treatment options for their pet’s condition is incredibly important to her practice philosophy.

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Dr. Snyder began her career in veterinary medicine on the East Coast, working as a veterinary assistant at a local hospital while double majoring in Biological Sciences and Animal Science and Technology at the University of Rhode Island. From there, she pursued her dream of becoming a veterinarian at Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, obtaining her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. After graduation, she completed her internship at New England Animal Medical Center outside of Boston. In 2012, she and her husband moved to California, escaping a cold year in the Midwest, and they’ve been happily enjoying the daily sunshine in Orange County ever since!

Dr. Snyder’s love for animals started at a very young age when she was bit by the horse bug. Ever since, her life has always included animals! Her little family now includes her husband, her Dutch Shepherd, Pepper, a Cavalier, Molly, and her equine dressage partner, Luna. When not caring for animals, she enjoys various fitness activities and projects at home.
